EUROPA CUP

THE SLALOM STARS ON THE MAIERL SLOPE

18 DECEMBER 2026

The 43rd edition of the Europa Cup Slalom will take place on Friday, 18 December, on the Maierl slope, which features gradients of up to 55%.

As tradition dictates, the Obereggen European Cup serves as the prelude to Italy’s classic FIS Alpine Ski World Cup slalom, scheduled this year in Alta Badia on 22 December.

In the 2024 edition, the winner of the Obereggen slalom on the challenging Maierl slope was French skier Antonie Azzolin, who completed the race in 1:40.09, ahead of Finland’s Jesper Pohjolainen (1:40.13) and Norway’s Andreas Sandvik (1:40.14).

Following long-standing tradition, the Maierl slope will be prepared by the organizing committee led by Eduard Pichler, with vice-president Simon Neulichedl, in cooperation with Obereggen Latemar SpA, chaired by Siegfried Pichler and managed by CEO Benjamin Kirchmaier. Support will also be provided by the Nova Ponente Amateur Sports Association, headed by Florian Zelger, and the Obereggen Ski and Snowboard School, chaired by Thomas Prinoth.

The winter season in Obereggen and the Latemar Dolomites ski area will continue throughout 2026 with a series of sporting events at the snowpark, one of the internationally renowned cradles of snowboarding and freestyle skiing.
